This wouldn't be the end of the world if I weren't selling and buy a house this week in two states remotely and all the doco and contracts and legal BS are in these folders and some don't do well in W7 for some reason. When I exported the ,pst I could see and watch the folders being copied to the usb drive which is why the showed up on the 7 box - fine and dandy. Microsoft knows that, which is why Outlook comes with a built-in tool. So I suspect the folders are just hidden within the UI. I also completely reloaded Office 365 after a tried the quick fix, neither helped at all. I also ran all the obvious virus scans, malware etc., I have McAfee on all my devices.

pst file imported it into a windows 7 box - old outlook and every thing works fine. I have ~20-30 folders with sub folders I guess. On the last click that it said, they came back and it worked for months until this morning. I did exactly what it said (may have been the normal folders view thread).

Didn't go well, all my xyz have stopped, $150 blah blah to fix it, 3 years support blah blah. Check the Deleted Items or Trash to see if it was accidentally deleted and restore it if need be. Check the other folders in your Outlook installation to see if the folder you are looking for was moved. I called the 800 number in the following response. If you don’t have access to the original pst-file then maybe at some point you synced your contacts with your phone? If so then you can sync them once again with Outlook. If for some reason after all of this you still have nothing happening then you may need to rebuild the contacts folder in Outlook. If you go back into your Address book options you will be able to change the default. This is necessary when you have other accounts connected to your Outlook. If the contacts appear in the folder, but when you go to compose an email nothing shows up when clicking ‘To:’, then you most likely need to change your default list.

Now you can go back and check your contacts folder once more.
